Taxes on incoming loss of license insurance

Hello everybody,

Does anyone know if taxes must be paid in the country of residence on the amount received from insurance for loss of license due to medical reasons?

Netherlands and Belgium any ideas? Because I have asked to many accounts but nobody is sure about. And why these differences from country to country? Europe should not be the same on these things ?

Depends also as to whether it is a lump sum or a monthly payment as well as the country.I found several tax advisors over the years not able to understand the nuances of the laws to my cost. Just had my recent income tax bill reduced by the revenue thanks to a revenue employee. Ask the authorities.
