Awerunning you are pushing me intervene again. If you think any expat would upgrade here in few month you really are delusional and there is no special agreements with anyone. Beside I'm not aware of any Lufthansa main line pilot in Turkish Airlines.

Scott, no agency is suggesting the short haul fleet is commuting, neither is the company. Regarding upgrades, a few A330 guys have returned to the 320 for upgrade, talking with one of them they needed to do 300 hrs on the A320 again and then will finish their upgrades, in line training command process now.. but they are Turkish, not foreigner. In 6 years don't know of any foreigner pilots that have been upgraded on the triple, no doubt someone will claimed to have been!

Furbpilot I think the poster awerunning is referring to the Air Berlin guys on the Airbus fleet that have the special 5 year contract with captain upgrade after 2 years if they meet all the requirements. Some may leave within 5 years for sunwings SXD operation. And before you feel pushed to intervene I got this info today from A330 Hocam ! As you know THY had training agreement with AB.

Kirk... I start to think you really are a troll. Air Berlin has nothing to do with LH ..at the contrary are controlled by EY which has nothing to do with Sunexpress and has no agreement with THY even less in the light of the fact that UAE has retired his ambassador to Turkey since 2 years.Find another pastime mate

Bob, sorry mate, you're wrong.. Not Troll and Ab do have an agreement with LH/THY>https://www.lufthansa-flight-trainin...partnerbis2017
The cadets do 9 months or and after they are assessed again to see if they go back to the AB network or continue on the A330 at THY. Why don't you go to the DOCO cafe and actually meet the guys?
The issue now is Pegasus is seeking to operate long range Airbus to NY, but the Turkish authority is insisting they interline via the AB base in Cologne, so the wrangle continues. Pegasus claim , quite rightly, to operate via CGN is not cost effective, but THY claim PGS is just trying to muscle in on the Long Haul operations from IST and SAW.
As for commute.. read the advert, it says, " you can combine your annual leave with days off" now, if you are THY you should know the annual leave windows and that it is not possible to do this every month.. These adverts from FCI are not worth the screen they appear on..
By the way aprox 68 percent of AB is owned by German and Turkish investors and 29 percent by the UAE, that, in my maths, is not a controlling situation.
It would appear accurate and up to date information on this tread does not entirely suit everyones agenda, but we still have to share when we can..

Sunexpress is a partnership by THY and LH but has nothing to do with Air Berlin that was previously co ownend by Turkeys Sabanci Group owner of Pegasus. The training partnership concens facilities and SIMs and its anyway in place between Airberlin and LH. LH has nothing to do with THY if not StarAlliance membership and the above mentioned SXS/SXD which is a separate entity.
airberlin IR ? Shareholder structure
and when is comes to commuting..Parc is advertising the same. Rumor is that it will be possible to combine days off at the end and the beginning of the month and that a new contract will cover all fleets with same benefits for local/expat which would make sense.

Kirk you really seems a bit confused ..how about a vacation?

Bob, your previous post 176 ( now edited !) stated AB has nothing to do with LH, but I clearly showed you that was wrong and I appreciate you taking out your previous statement Now you are admitting that LH training and AB do have a relationship some small progress..My previous post never claimed there was a relationship between AB and SXS, no idea where you got that chestnut !
All I have to do is now convince you the LH/AB cadets are being lined trained and continuously assessed at THY and have 5 year contracts?
SXS as we all know is the child of the THY/LH union and SXD formed a few years ago is the German entity, but because you are not " in the loop" you probably are not aware that SXD has the long haul operation in Co-operation with LH as Eurowings and SXD have requested SXS Pilots for the A330 operations out of Germany from 2016.. THY have also been asked if they can supply A330 crews and the most likely route will be the A330 crews being trained at THY ex AB.. now if you don't believe me. speak to Bay M.B on the A330 fleet, maybe some of this info may not be common knowledge (yet) As for a vacation.. yes badly needed especially from doubting thomas on this forum..
PS thank you for confirming the 29 percent voting rights from Ethiad, which as we see is not a majority!
I'm not confused but you are clutching at straws.. the commute Rumour is just that and for certain nothing will happen this side of the new year, especially as 19 Captains have been loaned to SXS..
Remember, the original Title of this thread and the implication people were leaving in droves etc etc, clearly, this is not the case and rather than chew chunks out of each other is it not better to comment on the original thread and " working conditions" which to some new comers seem ideal

Kirk, Hocam, you advice is falling on deaf ears!
http://worldairlinenews.com/2015/03/...press-germany/
These guys are the same guys that comment on the Ryanair T+Cs and know nothing about the operation, they are " flight simmers" not active airline crew. Better to post in the ME forums..

Thanks Avenger, good spot on the press release, the caveat is the crew must have right to live and work in Europe and speak German. We have some dual nationality guys and of course the AB guys all German anyway.

Over the year we are at - 30% over 3 years at - 65 %...this is simply not a currency its a joke and prove is that the first to get rid of it are the Turks themselves. They should peg it to something or it will never stop... Constantly devaluating it to stay competitive will end up in a economical blood bath..

Bob,
A year ago the TL/ EUR was 2.8.
It is now 3.044.
Thats about 8 %,not 30%.
What are you smoking?
It is not being devaluated,it is simply capital outflow due to many factors such as Fed raising interest rates after printing bills like never before, unstable political environment for foreign investment and now added trouble with military activity.
The euro lost 30 % versus the USD in a year...aint great either...

Since I joined TRY has lost an average of 12 % a year over year. In 2010 it was 1,8 TL for one Euro...we are almost to the double of that now. Keeping into account pay rises I still miss 35% of my income in Euro. As an expatriate I'm forced to consider that as a reference currency. In the same time many friends in the Gulf thanks to the piloted devaluation of the Euro against the dollar have seen massive pay rises in the 30/40 % region.
