Rule Britannia
We all know that Gods gift to flying is not English. It is a mixture from everywhere. Has anyone heard an Englishman try to speak anything but English? To all of you non native, wait and see what happens with this company./Teddy

It is stupid and rascist to say that you must be native english speaker. They should do what air France do, let anyone apply but make them do a written language test that even a native french person finds challenging.

So then-enlighten me please.
Is a Bajan citizen a native English speaker?
Perhaps then, he must be black to fulfill the native part of the requirement?
There is nothing racist about this requirement. There is, however, an interpretative element placed on the advertisement by those quick enough to find fault with the raisin in a currant bun . A self induced and delusory interpretation furthermore, on the part of those who are perhaps not quite familiar with the boycotts that have in the past been placed on the employment of those who are not Australian citizens by Australian airlines. The racist element in this ban of course, lying in the fact that there is a presumption here that all Australian citizens will speak Australian and not English.
(Edited for correct grammatical structure-I hope so-but possibly not so).

Can someone please enlighten me? What on earth is this discussion about? The bloke who started this rant is so lacking in English, even though he appears to be a native, that he cannot even manage to post a link or state clearly what job he is rabbitting on about. Can anyone, native speaker or not, please provide a reference to something that the rest of us can understand? From the outside this thread just looks like a lot of crazy people bleating about a problem that does not actually exist. If that is not the case, please let us all in on the detail.

I think that this has become a thread for non native English speakers to have a bleat about native English speakers engaging in racist policies. It is totally daft and should be shut down. Mind you, one of the posts by a supposedly native English speaker could benefit from some serious grammatical excisions of the cut and paste variety.
