Talking Job with Thomsonfly from 3rd July...

Hi there!

I have been fortunate enough to make it through the selection with Thomsonfly, and have been offered a position on the B757 with base in Manchester. I will commence training 3rd July.

Is there anybody else in here, who is starting on the same course?

Kind regards
BAP

Im joining as an FO (senior FO in thomson) I know the basic is £40080 and ive seen the flight pay on ppjn, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me the average take home after tax with the sector pay, allowances and flexi working etc.

Well done BAP.

Do you mind my asking how long the whole process took? ie when did you receive that first invitation to the initial assessment?

Here's to following in your footsteps.

Congrats,

You should clear an average of £3300 a month including flexi etc.

lowest around £2600 highest around £5000 without flexi i guess around £3000.

Congrats to those hired onto the 757 at Manchester. Can someone answer a few questions:

1. For the 757 at MAN, how many days per week during the summer would you being flying (I am familiar with how busy the summer charter season is)? How many sectors per day on average? How soon (in years) before you would qualify or have the seniority to fly long haul on the 767 as an FO?

2. For hiring in general, what percentage of newhires are going to the 757/767 vs. the LCC 737 operation?

Cheers

Riker, you have mis-understood the 'mixed model' concept in Thomsonfly. The 737 fleet does not operate solely low cost (actually the company refers to it as 'low fares') scheduled services. It operates a mix of charter routes and scheduled routes.

First Stage took 2 weeks to hear that I passed and I was notified by email, second stage I was called the next day after attending to say that I had passed and to give me the course dates etc. I took me a while for the whole process, I went for the 1st Stage on 3rd April then the 2nd stage on 23rd May, I believe other people didnt have to wait as long for the second stage!
Hope this helps

What's an FO (senior FO in thomson)?

I've never heard of this term before. Don't you mean (completely at the bottom of the seniority list and junior to the lowest S/O that joined before you and she/he'll get promoted first when the time comes) F/O?
