Fellow Airmen, Where can one obtain the current payscale for direct entry first officers for Singapore Airlines Cargo on the B747-400? What is it like to work there? Management style? Ability to jump-seat/maintain ties in North America? Work rules? Union? How do they treat U.S. pilots? Anything like Cathay Pacific? Any information would be very much appreciated.

Before submitting my post, I have searched through every thread on this website. Although there is a myriad of very intersting bits of information, I still would like to know if anyone would care to share the current rates for F/O's at SIA Cargo. It would be appreciated!!!

Warden777, not quite. My rosters have me generally at home 14 days on average. My tax rafe last year was less then 15% you quote. Unlimited ZED fare tickets based on ID75 and lenght. If you're not typed the contract is just over 5 years, I think. ONe free pass for entire back to your "home of record"
No profit sharing at CI, NO command there either!
THe command issue is trying to be resolve right now. If a expat FO is qualified at the end of 5 years, he can be put into the pool. ONce complete his command training then it's over to local terms at Captain pay. No housing allowance, you do get CPF/CPF match from Company and no education allowance.
As of right now that's the deal. However, it could change and it will most likekly change more.
Good luck

Warden777 as far as the taxes are concerned Phil Squares is correct. My tax rate last year was below 10%. In the next few years with the NOR scheme I expect a tax rate of around 15%.
As far as the FOC ticket issue it is correct that you are taxed for them. However, you are looking at significantly less than the 800 US$ regardless where in the network you need to fly to.
Over the last almost 2 years I have flown around 550 hours a year, with about 15 days away from Singapore. Some months especially after x-mas until March are very slow.
In 2004 the Profit Share was a little bit more than 2 months Basic Salary + MVC, whilst in 2005 it was 4 months.
As far as I know not much has been decided in regards to the command progression for the F/Os, but in order to attract more FOs it may have to change in the future.
Hope this helps.
