Life on 757/767 at BA
Just wondered if anyone had any details on what the lifestyle would be like on the B757/767 as a junior pilot with BA? i.e what sort of tours, 75/76 ratio....

A friend of mine transferred from the BA 757 767 fleet because of the destinations he went to. BAs 757 does a lot of shuttle services nowadays and the 767s dont fly to the usa anymore unless they still do the MAN-JFK route.

The 767 already does the daily LHR/BWI and MAN/JFK and will do a daily LHR/EWR from the end of March.
LHR/PHL gets a 767 daily from early March, and YYZ also gets some 767 rotations from March.
That's not forgetting the Nassau and Grand Cayman routes.

Any chance of Montreal in there as well? Nice to see the 767 doing more of what it was designed for.
Could any of you on the fleet comment on what a newbie to the airline may expect on blind lines? I know its a senior fleet so one would expect to wait a while to hold a line. Very curious.
Thanks in advance.

Blind lines are generally ok. I get a mix of blind and trip lines and am very near the bottom. Occasionally a blind line will be almost all there and backs, but generally there is a mix which is the great advantage of the fleet. Next month I will be entirely longhaul which sometimes happens too.
There is nothing wrong with the destinations on the fleet although of couse that is up to each individuals preference. There is a fair amount of African work, which I quite like and there is more east coast stuff for the summer schedule which is likely to stay due to that larger number of longhaul hulls in the fleet. As long as that doesn't become the mainstay of the fleet then all will be well, otherwise there will be a few too many nights out of bed.
The 75 does a fair amount of domestic and a few european routes. Generally all very good.
Blind lines will have a fair amount of weekend work, but I do think it is the best fleet in the airline due to the mix and having 2 aircraft to fly.
