Flight International JOBS

<feel free to relocate this thread>

FI have changed the method of advertising jobs, on line.

Unless I am mistaken, you do not receive any contact information on line but must take out a subscription.
Am I correct in this assesment.

Fine for the UK based guys, just wander to local WHS and read the contact details, but for the rest of the world, this sucks.

Does any one else feel the same way.

I receive Flight International jobs on line, in fact have received two notifications in the last couple of days.

If I remember correctly the name of the airline or the agency is provided. It is up to us to find the address which is normally fairly easy on an Internet search.

When you finally land whatever job you happen to be after, I suspect you won't be offering free tickets to your passengers or free goods for your customers.

Forgive me if I've misunderstood your comment but - what sucks exactly? The idea of paying for a service?

What sucks is the NEW system

They have changed the way they present the JOB advert, I assume you are not aware of the FI hard and soft copy, but the job in the hard copy lists the contact details, but in soft copy does not.

Perhaps I am not getting the full picture but I have never paid anything towards this service. I have just received information on three more jobs together with the names of the advertisers.

From Flight International

Hi all,

the guys who run the Recruitment section have provided an explanation of the system below. Most importantly - it's still free.

We are absolutely committed to continuing to provide the highest number of genuine jobs in one place that you will find anywhere.

The fact is that the recruitment business has changed dramatically as a result of the internet - and very much to the advantage of the applicant (as well as the employers). But the whole basis of that is that today any recruitment site has to be able to show advertisers (quite rightly) that it is generating applications. So our system has to generate the required data. If we don't deliver then we lose the business.

Candidates benefit because this discipline weeds out ineffective websites pretty rapidly.

We stand by our record, and I am absolutely confident that there are thousands in the Pprune community that got at least one of their jobs from Flight (including me!). Feel free to mail me if you want to discuss this.

Kieran Daly, Group Editor

Here's the correct story:

The situation for www.flightinternationaljobs.com is that to access the jobs is still a completely free service and you do not have to be a subscriber to the magazine.

All you need to do is go to www.flightinternationaljobs.com then to my job account on the left hand side and click. You then press new user, type in your email address and your password. This is either a new password if you have never used the site before or if you are an existing user the password you used for the email alerts. You are now registered…it is that simple.

Every time you log in and want to respond to an ad you will just have to type in your password when you click the apply button….if you don’t want to apply, you don’t need to do anything.

This new system will allow even more jobs and employers to be placed on the website and thus users will have even more choice.

If anyone has any problems pls contact [email protected] and we will be able to sort it out.

great work flight international

Well i think flight international are great to post their jobs on the internet. Do you realise that they are doing them selves out of business. But there again there will always be people out there who are cheap and cannot bear parting with a few pounds to pay for their magazines - especially if all they want is to look up what jobs are available. Would they like flight international to arrange and go for their interviews as well!! Come on guys give them a break - for your information i do live abroad and yes sometimes i do have to do some leg work myself by flicking through the internet - or is your excuse now is that you dont have an internet and you have to go and pay some money!!

you have to invest some to get some back

A very clear explanation

I thank Algy / Kieran Daly, for the response above.

The change happened and I was not aware that it was happening. I am pleased to accept "free" job information, from FI, as I still believe they have the best jobs in the market.

I hope that by expanding theiservice, they will take over (from 350) as an example to all the industry.

I have explored the site, and hate to admit it but it is OK...There are several areas that could be improved, and I would be very interested in providing any input...as a cynical user.....
