Could anybody tell me if there is a max demonstrated crosswind for Take-off on the Dash8-Q400?

Cheers.

The question should have been what the max demonstrated crosswind limit for Take-Off IS for the Dash8-Q400.

My apologies

Thank Slam_Click, but I am indeed after a figure, i.e. 32 knots.

The DHC-8 flight manual details a maximum crosswind component for landing of 36 kt; this is based on a hard, dry runway and measured at a height of 10 metres. It also includes the following information on crosswind landings based on the steady state wing down/ zero crab technique: 'Approach and touchdown with upwind wing lowered, using rudder to align airplane with runway. Following touchdown hold nosewheel on runway with elevators and use ailerons to inhibit any upwind wing lifting.'

Thanks Checkboard.

This is the limit for crosswind during landing, do you also know what the crosswind limit is for Take-off?

The 36kts quoted above in that AAIB report is for a 300 series Dash-8. The original question referred to the Q400, a different beast.

The Bombardier Q400 AOM Vol 1 refers; 1.8.1.1: Take-Off & Landing max crosswind is 32kts. 20kts compacted snow, 14kts if the runway is contaminated with anything else.

Hope this helps.
