How are critically damaged A/C recycled?

There have been a few runway overshoots/undershoots recently resulting in complete hull losses - Congo, Jamaca, London, etc.

I believe most of these did not involve fatalities which is fortunate for all involved.

Anyway, after seeing pictures of the mortally wounded aircraft, I keep wondering how these craft are ultimately removed from the air fields.

I think there is a salvage yard for older birds near Pheonix AZ but those old retired planes are flown in - I believe. Apparently, the salvage process is similar to that of old automobiles and trucks - pick off a few good parts for resale, and melt down the rest.

Thx..
