I traveled through Korea a bit before COVID and always found Korean Air to be quite professional and smooth. From what I hear now, it seems they've handled the pandemic challenges very well overall. South Korea's tourism is booming again, as per https://gowithguide.com/blog/tourism...d-to-know-5254 Like any carrier, I'm sure there have been ups and downs lately adjusting to new protocols. But their reputation for quality service seems intact. Why the renewed interest, if you don't mind me asking?
KAL are still employing foreign Captains, even on the 787 which until now has been locals only, but with 10 more aircraft arriving this year and another 10 in the following year or two they don't have enough locals to crew them, many 777 Captains have returned after being laid off during the Covid dramas.
