Maldives FO - New record for P2F "scams"

There are ads published in the Pilot Hiring website for two FO P2F positions in the Maldives (assumedly with the national airline) on Dash 8's and A320.
The new extremes of shamelessness that this dirty phenomenon has reached is nothing short of breathtaking.
The Dash 8 offer is to pay 50,000 EURO and then starting the selection process to a type rating then "employment gauranteed" job (ie you may not pass the selection, even tho they have relieved you of 50,000 Euros.
The Airbus TR and FO position asks for $USD120,000.

The fact is that one can do a A320 TR in the US for about $10,000.

It is staggering to think that some people still go for this kind of thing

The shame doesn't lie within the provider nor sponsor of such scheme, but within the Individual lining up to pay for the way into the right seat of an airliner.

Exclamation Pay for your job

It is always a shame to hear those kind of stories and that pilots with thick wallets are ready and waiting to be taken advantage of.
It is up to us as pilots with dignity and integrity to steer clear of this type of B/S sham job offer that makes the aviation industry look so pathetic.

Flying an Airbus is not something worth paying for anyway. Why don't these people go and have some fun flying in the african bush on light aircraft instead? They'll still have the opportunity to upgrade later with their experience. Go figure!

It's all a show to make up for childhood neglect and other issues so that they finally feel accepted in life especially by the opposite sex.

Anyone who claims this isn't a complete money maker for the airline and is actually a bond arrangement is kidding themselves.

Applied to this as a type rated, time on type FO, apparently they recognise my rating, but I still have to pay 50k. Next joke.
