They are their own worst enemy.... Nowhere else in the civilized world do people go to work for months on end without receiving payment.

Pilots have no choice. The courts have held that companies in difficulties can hold back payments due for a specified length of time and if pilots quit then they are held in contempt.

They have ruled that pilots leaving their jobs due to lack of payment will cause even greater heardships to the company.

sad but true.

actually from what I understand it is their productivity pay that is being witheld.
Why AI would agree to a "guaranteed" productivity linked incentive is beyond me. It has to be based on something!!

Not just productivity..it is everything beyond their Guarantee. I believe that their guarantee is around sixty hours. If they fly 90...they are only getting paid for sixty and the rest promised at a later date that keeps getting pushed back.

Look at India's position on the world map: a perfect base for any air carrier to cash in on the traffic between the Far East and Europe/Africa. How can AI not blossom in such a favourable environment. What do they teach at the supposedly fantastic Indian universities?

Assignments must be on time. Pass the exams. That is the way at 'average' universities and most Air India employees are not from the 'fantastic' universities.
