Immediate Answers Please Guys!!!!help
Hey guys can u please answer these questions below , im really confused!!!!
1) Give the three different kinds of dampers and explain in detail their purpose and in which channels they act. Give block diagrams of the closed loop structures and explain all blocks in the diagram. Give also transfer functions where possible and explain them.
2) Explain in depth how a heading angle hold mode works in an aircraft. Your description should include at least the following topics enumerated below.
• Explain the purpose of a heading angle hold mode and describe which type of control device (surface) and type of feedback loop structure (sensor) are needed.
3) How can the heading angle be calculated from the roll angle? For this purpose, consider an aircraft in a flat turn with constant turn radius Rt and determine the equations of motion.
4) 4. Describe the glideslope hold mode of a general autopilot in detail. Your description should include at least the following topics enumerated below.
• A clear picture of the situation in which the to-be-controlled parameter can be found.
• Assumptions which are made in this figure.
• A procedure which shows clearly how the control law is determined.
• A block diagram which represents the control law determined earlier.
• An explanation of the nature of each block in the diagram, and definitions of models or transfer functions of all these blocks.
After you described the glideslope hold mode in detail, explain the influence of the slant range R on the closed loop performance. Give three ways how this can be compensated.
please please , help me with these questions !!!
thank you

Is it for the Indian ATPL? Looks more like something you see in an aeronautical engineering course though.

hello there mate ,
I will try to answer these questions for you.Should you have any doubts on any of my answers please feel free to to have alook at your ATPL system books and these things are explained there in detail
Ans 1) there are three types of yaw dampers
1. Parallel- they are often found in king air b200 and b1900 and they are used for all phase of flght except for landing and take off . If they fail to operate then there are limitations on flight levels
2. Series - they are also same as the parallel except if one of the yaw damper is inoperative, rest of the dampers would be just fine for normal ops
3.single (parallel) you find them in old king air and they are just the same as parallel yaw dampers
ANS 2 ) for this most of the a/c have Air data that gathers info from pitot and static tube and converts them into signals in the air data and the output is the control movements, speed, height etc etc.
for heading loop air data receives info from the servos and gives you the output as if u need for heading mode or nav mode.
some aircraft have half bank and full bank buttons on the auto pilot.i would think they would use TAS /10 + 7 (rate one turn ) for half bank and upto 25 degrees max for full bank
ANS 3) heading angle and roll angle ;
I am not sure as what you are asking here. as far as i can think we just fly numbers .we dont do derivatives .I would suggest using TAS/10 + 7 for the above answer
ANS 4)with reference to glide slope mode.
again refer to king air b200 NAV and APP mode on the autppilot .
Also refer to working of the ILS system for the precision approach.
once you have captured the localiser and when within 25 miles and around 3000' you can arm the APP mode and the auto pilot is coupled.
Do a search as well on wikipedia and you would find lots of info regarding your questions above.
Cheers

What are you trying to prove dude by creating multiple threads at different sections? ..........![Derr](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies2/eusa_naughty.gif)
There is such thing called 'google' and it works just fine. I got the answers in less than a minute, as mentioned by the other poster at a different section ........![Pukey](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/pukey.gif)
