Would like t remind you that the investors are Saudi's, Filipino’s & Japanese businessmen
So what?? It doesnt matter how much money they invest, they cannot buy a route that doesnt exist! I still havent heard of ANY planned government level discussions on the bilateral agreement!

But there again this is the land of "wasta".... lets wait and see!!

Tair Airways was granted by TOP by the cab on 26 Oct 2006, but it was only valid until 26 Jan 2007. There were no records whether Tair has utilized any of its rights during the time.

As of the moment, it has a pending application for extension of its TOP on the cab.

Tair was opposed by other airlines during its initial application.

Approved by WHOM??????

I told you before, there is no bi-lateral agreement that allows a Philippine based airline to operate into Jeddah! Why do you think that PAL were only operating to RUH?

whether there is a bilateral agreement or none its still possible for an airline company to apply for that route..every airline is entitled for application for any route..it can be approve or not what is important is they did some effort to try..if successful..its good..if not try another route, besides they can start with Riyadh first then go for the JEDDAH, and they are "Unscheduled International Carrier"..Its not bad for an airline company to exercise the allotted freedom of air between Saudi and Philippines, who knows it may change this month..lets just wait for the big news, if there's Jeddah..so be it everybody happy, what is important is to see them start and help us Filipino and we need them badly in the Philippines to grow our aviation industry...Cheers to everybody

hether there is a bilateral agreement or none its still possible for an airline company to apply for that route..every airline is entitled for application for any route.
It doesnt work that way unless there is an "open sky" agreement, which in this case, there isnt!!! You cannot apply for a route that doesnt exist, its as simple as that. The present air service agreement was signed in 1982! It will be interesting to see if they can change it before they start services.

As for the concept of "just start in Riyadh"!!!! SVA are adding an additional 6000 seats per month to Manila by changing the aircraft. It will be interesting to see how the other big boys in the Gulf react to the arrival of Tair.

Mutt, and what would you comment on that the main investor of Tair Airways is the No1 to KSA & Gulf region (Check the MIDT data). He and other major players in the Filipino market will divert all their business on Tair Airways. The business is secured on both ends my friend.

Try to be optimistic and let us just watch how the big boys will play politics in this part of the world. It is time to secure business on a Filipino national carrier than seeing it going to other airlines. Got my point.

Cheers buddy.
