Tair will not be leased to anyone. Tair has no relation with SV closing it base in Manila. SV plans are totally unknown to us and Tair is going as per the schedule plan.

Still the Jeddah traffic wrights are under negotiation, but Riyadh is confirmed. Clark is only airport that Tair will be operation from in Manila.

Noted an article in papers last week that Philippines is opening negotiations with a number of Asian countries regarding changing bilateral agreements, Saudi Arabia wasnt mentioned. Tair have just taken the "already agreed" routes that were dropped by Phil Air. They will have a very hard time convincing Saudia to agree to them operating into Jeddah"

Now for the facts....

SV will close MNL CABIN crew base in March, flights will be operated by another part of Saudia or even Air Atlanta, hence no need for cabin crews. reason behind this is that the SV B744 is in the wrong configuration for the route and its hard to make money. You can expect the leased aircraft to be in a cattle class configuration.

SV havent ordered ANY new aircraft, so dont expect to see MNL base re-opening too soon.

Finally, leased aircraft will be in Saudia colours with SV cabin crew uniforms. Just like the A320s...

Cool Need guiding Lights from all Pro Pilots

Hello to all, I'm a Filipino(US Citizen) Private Pilot and currently working to get my Instrument rating here in San Diego CA. I was just going thru all of the posted comments/suggestion about PAL. Looks to me like I might have to stay in the U.S. and Fly the friendly skies. Can anyone tell me or convince me if I should work for PAL. And what are the Requirements to be able to qualify?

Thanks and Happy Landings!

This thread is not about PAL. So I suggest that you post in PAL's thread. Thanks

Newbreedflyboy,

wrong thread...try PAL Pilot Exodus..I think getting in that airline you must be at least a CPL holder w/IR, college graduate and to pass all the rigid interviews and medical and so many others..try to refer on the given thread

sl

Anyway there' a lot of news that DMIA will go for full renovation and development, and they are getting a lot of ramp buses and being prepared for long haul flights like Tair Airways will be using soon..nice airport and its getting interesting as new airlines are sighting the zone as new port of entry

SL,

yup I've seen some articles bout it and I think they are going to start as early as this year, It's nice because they are also going to connect DMIA to MNL via train and building some new expressways linking Clark-SUBIC and to other parts of the country..it would be good especially to the passengers and airlines like Tair Airways and many others..nice start for the year

Aviation industry in the Philippines is very young, so a lot of it has to be filled up for developments, well as an airline enthusiast we are waiting for further developments like this Tair Airways, were excited to see them, specially they will be in Philippine flag, its been a long time that a new airline will come and see it grow..so sooner we might see them flying in and out of Clark..hmmm..wonder what will be their color? any preview on their aircraft livery...pleaseee...just post here when will be the 747-300 be arriving and I'll be happy to ready my lens and wait for them in clark..please...
