EVA

Hello to all,

I am considering applying to EVA Air, and I had a few questions I was hoping someone could answer. I have tried the search function but EVA being only 3 characters, brings up a search fault.

1.) if one were hired onto the MD-11, would they eventually be able to transfer to another fleet like the B777 or A330?

2.) Do they upgrade foreigners? I have heard mixed rumours about this. Some say yes, more say no. I know China Airlines does NOT, but I am curious if EVA does?

Thank guys for any infos.

1) Doubtful

2) They upgrade in seniority, about 7 to 8 years from what I am told.

If you are hired on to MD11 initially be prepare to stay on that fleet until your upgrade, and of course you will still be on the MD11 for at least another 4-6 years after the upgrade.

They do not hire onto 330 or 777 unless you are currently rated or being a local.

So basically foreigners are stuck flying freight only at eva, since the 74's are all to be made into freighters soon. Sounds like the locals and the foreigners are on a equal playing field at eva......NOT

I think I'll pass on eva, no wonder they can't get anyone to come fly for them.
