NO CONTRACTING FREEDOM BY DGCA DELHI

Heard from a friend contracting down in India for AIR INDIA EXPRESS who has it from authority that Air India has convinced the Civil Aviation Authority in DELHI to impose a requirement for a NOC(No Objection certificate) for Expat Pilots who have completed their contracts and want to change Companies within the country.
If no NOC forth coming from Air India then he has to wait 12 mths before applying elsewhere.
Seems to me this is about as low as you can go since it was not alluded to in his contract........so be warned.

Pilot shortage is hitting India hard, most airlines try to poach the pilots from each other with out any regard to the pax suffering cancelled flights this happed with AIX and Sahara, hence the possible law by DGCA. The direct result of this will be a higher package on the contract

Besides not many expat pilots want to live in India after one contract.

Cannot see the "Press Ganging" of Labour overcoming Market Forces when it comes to better contract packages.Might as well sign up as a card carrying commie,.... I understand his part of India is full of them.
