Angel Vietnam Airlines winds down 767

The foreign pilots on the 767 in VN have recently been told that around 40 to 50% of them will be given their marching orders sometime after Tet. A few lucky remaining ones will probably be upgraded to the 777 and maybe some will be offered an A320. They pay of course!

The 767 fleet has been retracting for some time now, but for some time the airline had been offering the carrot of upgrades to the B777 but only 3 or 4 foreignors were upgraded then it all stopped. It seems now that 767s will be extinct in Vietnam by the end of 2005.

B-B

Lets face it the B767 is now too long in the tooth and no longer what Scheduled National Carriers in the Far East or Middle East require anymore.
Too slow and expensive to maintain, Excellent aircraft in it's day but time to move on to newer machines.
