Security pass, returning from overseas
I read some disturbing stuff about how difficult or even impossible it might be to get a red security pass after having spent some time overseas. I heard about pilots returning to Canada who have been denied a security pass because the country they were working in either don't have or don't share their background records with other countries. This has terminated careers.
I am leaving for a three years contract in Japan and wonder if they do share their records with other countries. If not, this could compromise my return.
Do any of you have more informations about it or has experienced this situation?
Thanks.

Go to the Canada Forum, there is a long thread starting about the Red Passes and how those who have worked in Africa particularly aren't not being granted them. I think it is more geared towards 'non first world countries' so I'd assume that Japan will be okay however, I would call the airport authority beforehand or Transport Canada
