PIA considering service to Korea

It wont happen in the near future but the airline have been planning to fly to Seoul since a long time, finacial problems in PIA as well as the Asian economic crisis of the late 90s prevented them from starting this route, but the Pakistani presidents visit there a few days ago has brought up the destination in PIA's agenda again especailly since he suggested that such a service be started in talks with South Korean leader, I think it may begin in summer 2005, from Karachi via Lahore and Islamabad with an A310, maybe an internationl stop at Bejing or Shanghai could also be part of the routing, as PIA are going to relaunch operations to Shanghai in a few months after 30 years of being away.

Asiana Airlines were also planning to launch service to Karachi but it hasnt materialisd yet.

Seoul is not served by any south Asian airline at present. Air India did so during the 90's but pulled out due to their own financial problems.
