So I do have company :)

nsk.air - Were you told to contact Meegan? She is on leave till Apr 16. I think I'll give her a call when she gets back.

nsk.air 12th Apr 2012 08:05

Smurf84- We could also call Sunny Singh?

smurf84 12th Apr 2012 08:15

Sunny Singh is certainly our go-to man. :)

I have received a similar intimation from CX, although I wasn't called for the interviews that were held earlier in Feb12. So it seems that there must be a second drive/batch to hire more SO's.

ckalli 12th Apr 2012 09:44

im wondering if i should just reply anyway!

I assume Cathay is inviting more applicants for the AE-SO programme. The HR dept. may have accidentally sent emails to the candidates who sat for/passed the Stage 1 interview in Mumbai. I'll get that confirmed tomorrow.

I really don't think there is an issue with the 250 hours requirement at the moment. Pilots from Cathay's traditional recruiting grounds may be declining the offer which could be the reason they're coming back to India again. This is just an assumption and it will be good news for the pilot community in India.

bond - We did the Stage 1 interview. Cathay sent us the email 3 weeks ago clearly mentioning that we have been shortlisted for the Stage 2 interview in Hong Kong. Why do you think this could be the end of the line?

Hi All,

I got the same email too, I applied in June 2010 and this is the first time i get an email from Cathay in any sort.

Guys the only thing comes to my mind that Cathay is in urgent need for SO and they decided to contact or give a chance for every successful applicants with 250 hrs or more.

At the end of the day i think its a good news and lets hope that we wont have to go under along wait before we get a call for 1st stage.

thanks and goodluck all

smurf84 12th Apr 2012 12:32

bond - One of us will get this issue sorted out a.s.a.p. Need to confirm it with the right people.

smurf84 12th Apr 2012 12:40

Without a doubt, this is good news for all the pilots who got the email. CX recruited 250 odd SOs in 2011. They plan to recruit 300 in 2012, and another 300 in 2013.

Spitfire88 12th Apr 2012 13:35

I got the same email, and the same reply for meegan. Its deff an error. dont worry too much abt it guys...

smartflyier 12th Apr 2012 16:47

for all those guys who got the mail first time, did u filled and sent back the attached form if yes what preferred location you are opting? Is it ok to prefer India? do u guys think they will come to India near soon?

smurf84 12th Apr 2012 16:59

If you think you can spend anywhere between 40,000 and 60,000 INR (on air tickets, food and accommodation for 3 days), you can select either Singapore or Hong Kong as the preferred location. You would get the interview dates at the earliest. The next option is India. I reckon it isn't a big deal for them to come here and conduct the initial interview.

As per the email, the initial interviews will be arranged in the major cities in which the flights of Cathay Pacific operate, subject to the sufficiency of eligible candidates. Selecting Mumbai or Delhi would be the best option.

nsk.air 12th Apr 2012 17:43

Smurf84- Please find out what does the mail mean to the candidates who have already been shortlisted for stage 2. Its like a 'no brainer' to me!

Thanks!

Stallone 13th Apr 2012 00:59

Note: CX comes to Singapore around March/April period every year. Only once per year.

Capt Aviator 13th Apr 2012 04:11

CX AE SO

I also received an email yesterday asking me to update my info by 12 May if I'm still interested in CX SO. I have > 250 hrs. I initially applied approx 1 year ago.

smartflyier 13th Apr 2012 05:01

Guys, I think as many of our mates from India had got the mail (specially after so many months of application) that means they are planning to conduct the interview in India soon(after may). Cause in one mail from cathay they said me that they will contact me if the recruitment will happen in my geographical area. And now they did, that means they are coming to India.

BTW guys do I have to mention the name of the city also where I prefer for interview or just INDIA will be fine?
