@ckalli,Smurf,kitty_hawk,spitfire
Now when u guys say CX won't be coming back to India any time soon, just like to know is this something u guys found out when u were at Cathay City? reason why I'm asking this is in some post around mid April also some of u mentioned it being a system error. btw Guys a lot of ur posts have been very helpful since I've been on PPRuNe.

@flypaul, aer_bourne, aviator_0088
I received the mail on April 12. Just would like to conform it was the same day for u guys. Lol a part of me still like to think it wasn't a system error.

3 Green -

That piece of info came straight from HR. Besides, I don't think any airline would go on a double recruitment drive in one year outside their home country. There would be plenty in Hong Kong. If you select Hong Kong as your preferred location for the Stage 1 interview while applying online, you are bound to get a quick invitation.

But you never know - they could come to India later this year. Again, I'll be surprised if they do so. I'll be honest with you - I never expected an invitation to the Stage 1 interview after waiting for nearly two years. At Cathay Pacific, expect the unexpected.

Regarding the email, it was a system error to ONLY those who were shortlisted for the Stage 2 interview. Not the rest of you who haven't appeared for the initial interview yet.

Keep waiting. Be patient and work very very hard, if all you want is Cathay Pacific.

Hello,

has anybody got the Job Knowegde Information document in the email from Cathay for the SO AE interview?

thanks.

thepilot77 4th Jun 2012 12:35

.

pelle123

I am not aware that Cathay would send a knowledge pack for their interview, Please correct me if I'm wrong or anyone else that could advice us on this matter.

Thanks in advance

pelle123 4th Jun 2012 14:58

Well I just read in the other Cathay Pacific Interview thread that ppl were talking about that. Perhaps its not for the AE interview.
But I would like know.

smurf84 5th Jun 2012 03:07

The Job Knowledge booklet is only for zero-hour candidates (HKID holders) applying to the Cadet Pilot Programme. Pilots applying to the Advanced Entry Programme do not get any booklet for the interview.

Urbn31 5th Jun 2012 09:30

Has anyone got through with the second interview?

Anyone done the Advanced flight grading yet? Does anyone know whats involved? I heard its now 2 weeks 7 flight in the TB10 followed by SIM? Can anyone confirm?

Does anyone know which aircraft they use for sim? Which airport is likely selected for IFR flight?

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

I haven't passed my second interview but I'm thinking a little ahead.

Thanks guys

Urbn31 5th Jun 2012 09:31

That's not entirely true, I did the JKI test and I applied as AE entry.

smurf84 5th Jun 2012 12:42

Really? Well, none of us from India had the JKI test in the Stage 1 and 2 interviews. There was a written tech test in Stage 1.

ashokbhatt11 5th Jun 2012 14:41

hello all and sorry for not being around for long .
I am not able to access my account ashokbhatt1 so have opened new one ashokbhatt11.

I will start with the conclusion gave my interview this thrusday after all those delay and frustration final result dint make it to flight grading.
So can give details about what happened on day 1 have no ideas what happened on day 2.

Had my interview on 21st and 22nd of may initially but at airport was told as this is an ID ticket you will be allowed to board if flight is not full my luck was bad CX684 WAS OVER BOOKED BY 13PAX and was not allowed to board tried my best to convince them how big this oppourtunity was for me but it was not in their hand.( I said a day before interview that they are not providing preferred choice of meal on board on I D ticket but when I was told i cant board i was ready to go in cargo compartment). And their flight to hongkong from bangkok which was 5 hrs later was also overbooked dint took much details abt tht because by that time i was frustrated and wanted to go back home.

Contacted hong kong office mr sunny singh told him about everything he said will give me fresh dates i dint knew when i will get a chance but the same week i got a mail for interviews on 31st -1st this time finally boarded .

Facilities provided by Cathay at hong kong was of great standards ,hotel was great ,interviews arrangment was great everything was of top industry standard .Process was clean.6 ppl gave only one guy from australia made it he had some 1300 turbo prop hours.I taught it went better than stage 1 but this time standards were very high and i dint met them.I was informed by one of other candidate that none of the guys who had close to 250hrs made it .Cant trust his words tho its not official.

Interview process was same as smurf84 mentioned.Only in technical part i was asked why they use 3 ins/irs system and some technical questions about a350 which i had no idea rest all were cpl standard questions.

Flight planning was easy tuff part was the way he made tables on board makes you confused for few seconds but that guy is very helpful very great guy.you cant go wrong here very easy exercise.

rest all same as smurf84 said

I was overall happy with the arrangements just that i dint got to board initially
makes me feel bad.would definately reapply .

Hr lady said I will be given 4 months after i pass flight grading to take my total to 250hrs and hours done at fta wont be counted in that (for those who dont have 250hrs).

Stage 2 interview

Hi Guys,

I've got some questions to those who passed the stage 2 in HK.
-Could you give me some informations about the english test ? is it a oral or written test ? Could you give some details ? is it MCQ ?
-When did you receive the official result (or unofficial) of the stage 3 ( or second day )
Thanks in advance.
