@flywannabe

I did update my application again on the website.

But I am not sure if I should put in another application or just keep updating the previous application. Got any suggestion on that?

But id suggest you should call the recruitment department and check with them what they tell you about ur stage one.

To all the pilots who have applied to the AE-SO programme, please brush up on your mathematics and aviation numericals when you make it to Stage 2. Do not take it for granted. There are many pilots who would tell you to take it easy. That is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, I didn't make it to the next stage. The tech interview was an absolute wipeout, where I was asked a few questions on the A340 and A350. With just 250 hours, expect the unexpected. Out of 24 pilots from India who appeared for Stage 2 interview, 10 have made it to the next stage. I'm not sure if this is true - it doesn't look like CX is coming to India again this year. But hey, this is a rumour.

smurf84 Sorry to hear that bro, But i really don't understand why Cathay need to ask a pilot with 250 hrs to know so much about a340 a 350 if the questions were a detailed questions not for example what's the difference between A340-A350.for a second officer i think Cathay expect you to know the entire aviation field by heart and you cant lack on one part.

its very out of order i have friends who works for Etihad and others Emirates and trust me guys i met the crew of both on many different occasions and if you ask a Capt. what's the stalling speed on the C-150 he will smile at you and say i don't know. the point I'm trying to make its with every pilot in the world if you are rated on something and they ask you about it and you cant answer it then its shame on the industry to have pilots like that, but Cathay shouldn't expect us low timers to answer a detailed question about any specific type because if you ask any pilot these days WHAT A/C DO YOU WANT TO FLY a reasonable person would say any as long as i get some experience none of us was born with 500hrs jet time or born as rated pilot or born as a straight Capt.:=

Cathay is playing tom and jerry with us.

anyway I wish you guys all the best and sorry for the other guys who didn't go through stage 2.

Greetings candiates from stage2 S.O. held in H.K.:
I would greatly appreciate any feeback about the recently held session in h.k.

Was there any iq/mental ab. test?

What kind of aviation mathematics questions were asked?

How was the group activitiy and flight planning excercise? does everyone get a chance or does it become chaotic?

Is it still visa on arrival and no further procedures to it? Any suggestion on the minimum amount of HKD to take along?

Lastly did you take copies of your certificates?

Thanks in advance and safe weekend evrybody!

flypaul 27th May 2012 02:59

3green.

U knew it well.

-8 is longer than 300er. Before the -8 The Airbus 340-600 was the longest pax aircraft. But now the -8 the longest.
