suggest you read up on ID travel for staff rules & regulations.

while at CX city pls always be in proper business attire - pants / shirt / tie / black shoes. :ok:

even when you travel on ID ticket wear pants and shirts not cargos n tshirts :=

CX should look at you and see a future professional airline Capt not some kid from college

well I guess "first impression is the last impression" :O
There is no harm in dressing in a formal way, as You have to give it your best shot to succeed in this rounds.

CaptNK_AIRBUS 19th May 2012 05:46

Cathay Staff ID travel Rules.

This is an extract from the Staff ID travel rules and regulations MANUAL of Cathay Pacific.

Dress code.

ID passengers should be dressed in accordance with public standards of good taste. This will normally mean attire suitable for an office, or smart casual wear. It excludes jeans, T-shirts, sweat-shirts, shorts, gym shoes, and similar extremes of casual wear.
Dress standards are enforced at airports and our Airport Services staff have the final say on what is or is not acceptable dress and if the standard of dress is improper the ID passenger will not be accepted for boarding.

Checked Baggage-
Checked Baggage Allowance for all ID passengers travelling with ID tickets shall be either 1 piece on services where the piece system applies or 20KG on all other services.

Cabin Baggage-
Please visit CX corporate website for the latest arrangement. See Below:
Cabin Baggage, Carry On Luggage, Baggage Allowance - Cathay Pacific Hong Kong

Through check-in-
Not available

Special meals-
Special meals are not available to any standby passengers. If you have specific dietary needs or preferences, you should carry on board your own provisions.

Upgrade policy-
ID passengers are not allowed to request up-grading.

Embargoes-
To be advised

Insurance-
CX recommends all ID passengers to arrange comprehensive insurance.

Aircraft configurations-
Please visit CX corporate website for details. See below: Boeing 747-400, Airplane Fleet Information - Cathay Pacific

I know one ID guy who always wears grubby T-shirts and jeans whenever he paxes on CX.

No wonder he was kicked out of the S/O program and assigned a desk job instead.

You need to have a bit of self-respect and "look the part".

visa & other procedures help:

greetings friends,

I'm just a bit dazed about the procedures including visa stuff that needs to be taken care of for the stage -2 trip to h.kong.

I saw the link sent by Mr.S.S. and i've chosen BOM as my point of boarding & I'm also aware of the fact that visa is on arrival if it's under 14 days but after reading the dreadful line that we could be denied a visa if we dont approach through clear formalities, I just wanted to confirm with the candidates who've already landed and are in h.kong about how they did their visa and what papers have to be taken along to avoid any scene :}

other than te visa, have you guys taken along any copies; namely, certificate copies educational/ proffessional, uni -transcripts etc.? My date is for the 4-5th Jun and I'm yet to receive a detailed mail about these things. any help from you guys would be grateful.

Thanks in advance & all the best evrybody! :ok:

pelle123 23rd May 2012 17:11

@flypaul

I applied last year and updated my application a few months ago.
Got an answer last week.

jackcarls0n 23rd May 2012 19:20

@Flywannabe

I heard back from them in a week... didnt get through.

Interview was good though. Honest answer. It was over pretty fast too. They was another guy along from Malaysia. We were done in an hour and half.

A reasoning test with two sets of questions and a multiple choice test and general questions about why i am looking to join cathay, how funded my training etc. It went well according to me.

Couldn't answer couple of questions on the multiple choice test and on the interview had no clue why singapore doesn't get cyclones and hong kong does.

It seems you'd get through. But don't they say they will let you know in 3 weeks time? You should have heard by now. Maybe you should email them and ask?

flypaul 24th May 2012 05:28

@pelle123

@pelle123,

Thank for your answer.

I have just few more questions. It would be helpful if you can answer.

Did you update your application online or did they send you the update application forms by e-mail?

Did you get this mail on 12 Apryl with a return date of 12 May? Please confirm that not.

Thank in advance,

Paul
