@ashokbhatt1.. thanks a ton man.. n all the best once more.. n all the best to all those who are appearing..
I just spoke to person who is traveling along wid me for interview.. he turned out to be a guy from my flight school who was a good friend back then.. but somehow we lost touch.. n spoke to him like after 5 years.. both of us were surprised when we found out our real identities!
does any1 have any idea if its just a coincidence that we both are from same school? or Cathay might have planned..!?

visa???

Im still confused about the visa, at the link they have provided its mentioned that no visa is needed if visit is lesser than 14days....so are we supposed to show up at the airport with just the ticket and passports or do we have to carry any other documents.

hey nsk.air i will be on the same flight u mentioned on the same day. and im having interview there on 22nd and hopefully on the 23rd too

smurf84 17th May 2012 07:05

Under the prevailing visa arrangements, a valid Indian passport holder may visit Hong Kong without a visa for a period not exceeding 14 days.
Accordingly, no visa is required for transitting / visiting Hong Kong within such visa-free period.

Return tickets and passport will do.

ckalli 17th May 2012 09:51

i spoke to a few travel agents..

visa on arrival is subject to a few conditions.. one a return/onward ticket.. two, sufficient finances for your stay in HK. that when i clarified means; either have an international credit card, or 300usd per day X no of days in HK.

your hotel bookings are not really required. the part of the finances too.. they do not ask everyone. but thats the requirement, so they could check.

he also suggested carrying a photograph just incase.

cheers!

smurf84 17th May 2012 12:53

I was told by an agent that the offer letter/invitation to the interview and return tickets are sufficient incase the authorities ask for any documents. As accommodation and return tickets are covered for, there is nothing else you need to spend money on. Probably carry 1000 HKD.

CaptNK_AIRBUS 17th May 2012 18:28

I think what Sumrf84 said makes sense.. n carrying 100usds for 3 days, when complete stay and travel is taken care of, doesnt seem too practical!

CaptNK_AIRBUS 17th May 2012 18:29

my bad.. Smurf84*

Aviation mathematics test???

I have been looking for quite a while and still have not found sufficient info regarding the aviation maths test, groups exercise or flight planning exercise yet,....I didn't find any examples of the same yet. Just generic info which wasn't much help. How to prepare for them if you dont know what might come. I guess we can deal with the group exercise and the flight planning without preparation, but we will need to prepare for the aviation maths test atleast a bit. Does anyone have any idea??

CaptNK_AIRBUS 18th May 2012 13:15

I think it would be good to revise whatever u have studies for DGCA exams.. all numericals.. MH,MB,RBI calculations, rules for CP/PNR.. TAT/SAT Calculations, density alt., pressure alt. calculations.. etc.. practise all these, and i think u shud get through.. no need to carry CX2 or Calculators.. they ain't gonna allow that.. so, m guessing its gonna be pretty basic

ashokbhatt1 18th May 2012 13:40

guys looking at the current situation of indian aviation complaining dont see to be valid but still like to share

I called cx mumbai booking office today to book preferred choice of meal(meal not a big deal as flight takes off at 01:05 hrs at night) but still the response what i got was "sir this is a staff ticket preffered choice of meal is not available on this ticket have to deal with the meal available on board"

not a big deal but still felt the need of sharing it with you guys.

All the best for interviews.

CaptNK_AIRBUS 18th May 2012 14:46

well.. but when u get on board their plane, u'll be more than happy.. they have better service than most other airlines.. I had flight wid them, coming back from SFO to BOM.. they got a really nice service..

CaptNK_AIRBUS 18th May 2012 15:54
