They're only requirement is to be able to live and work in Hong Kong, if you have recently graduated from university, I suggest you have a look at Top Talent Pass Scheme. As long as you graduated from the list of university stated on that scheme you have a chance to be able to get a working visa in Hong Kong.

Hi All,
Thought I'd give a refresh of a few pointers to those going thru or looking to go thru the application process that I was given (it could vary). I can only advise up til and including the final interview as I'm still pending a response on how I've faired with that.
1. Initial Application: Suggest submitting a cover letter in addition to your CV, I did get quizzed on my cover letter during my final and initial interviews which makes me think that it's something they do look at carefully. Ensure that you proof check for any errors including grammar for anything that you submit.
2. Computerised Testing: If the above goes well, you'll be invited to sit the online computerised testing. This was done over MS Teams, with video on (I suppose the intent is to ensure no collusion). There's 6 modules all of which have been explained well on this forum, but in short they are
- Monitoring ability [CUT-E moving dots]
- Spatial orientation [CUT-E Relative Bearing Indicator]
- Complex control [The Missile Game - google this]
- Applied numeracy [elementary level maths dare I say]
- Multi-tasking [CUT-E Triangle]
- Reaction speed [CUT-E Reaction Rate]
- Work-related behaviour [You can't really prepare for this, be honest and take a second to think about your answer]
They're all facilitated by a service platform called AON (previously called CUT-E). I've added the relevant training material you can use to prepare for these next to the modules above. 3. Initial Interview: A 30 minute 'get to know you' interview, to understand your scholastic and professional experience, goals and motivations for applying to the program. Advise you go over:
- Company History and Fleet (old, current and future)
- Company Values
- Familiarise yourself with your application submittals, you'll get asked questions about these.
- Cadetship Program and its details incl. cost, cost offset by the company, training bond, flight schools, duration of study.
- "Why do you want to become a pilot?"
- Prepare for cynicism of your CV. You'll get questions to the effect of "Why did you do X and not Y if you want to become a pilot", "Why didn't you consider A not B". They're stress testing your reason for applying and that you won't be a liability to the program.
4. Final Interview: A 1 hour behavioural and technical interview. I was told to prepare using the FAA PHAK modules available online, these include Chap. 4 Principles of Flight, Chap. 5 Aerodynamics of Flight, Chap. 6 Flight Controls, Chap. 7 Aircraft Systems, Chap. 12 Weather Theory. All good reading that all budding pilots should understand. I read over these modules first before summarising them in notes that I later used as review material before the interview. The Behavioural Interview is a follow on of your initial interview and you will likely get asked the same questions as your initial interview to challenge your consistency (like I did). Study your CV and plan for mock questions that you can apply your experience to, I always like to prepare answers to self-made questions using the STAR approach, for e.g. these include:
- What is your greatest achievement?
- Tell us about a time you've faced conflict and how you've managed it?
- How have you applied standard operating procedures to the work you've done previously, what does it mean to you?
- What are your weaknesses and how have you addressed them?
- What are your strongpoints?
- What motivates you?
On the technical side, barring the contents of the PHAK which should become your bible for preparation, I would also suggest reviewing the below:
- Cathay Fleet (all aircraft types) and Specifications.
- Flight School (FTA and Aeroguard) Fleet and Specifications.
- Role of a second officer (@ cathay in particular).

Hello,
I am searching the cadet pilot programme similar with CX, but seems like most of the programmes are limited to their citizen or PR only. Apprecaite if you guys could share more info. (noted the BA and easyjet application)

Hey mate, the requirements are captured pretty well on the website (see below). You might need to dig deeper into the IANG and TTPS if you don't fall into any of the other categories to check eligibility.
The right to live and work in Hong Kong or the Chinese Mainland (Eligible for IANG / TTPS are also welcomed to apply)
