I watched EK17 approach and land at MAN.

I saw no sign of an escort, and have heard no mention of one.

Are you referring to EK19?

According to a Dutch aviation site yesterday (04-11) a B777 of Emirates, enroute from Dubai to the UK, was intercepted by two F16s of the RNAF. However this incident took place above Dutch airspace around 11:30 AM local Dutch time. After two F16s intercepted the aircraft, radio contact was established and the 777 went onto its final destination. Was this the MAN bound flight??

Didn't a similar situation occur a few months ago on the DXB-BHX route? Having said that, it's happening to a lot of airlines in recent months.

That was the manchester bound flight re above.

Every one crossing the north sea towards lamso was givin lower levels to facilitate EK.

Heard EK ask whether on landing they should contact Mass on landline. Curt response...."your operations have been informed".

Hate that!

wrong frequency? .... or involutarily napping.
to recite a manager who told me recently:
i know all about your fatigue thing. but there's no danger to that, everything is automatic and it's just plain fun to overwork you bastards!
