And the helicopter pilot?

PS: Wonder if Hollywood directors gain all the necessary approvals before doing similar stunts?

An interview said they wouldn't comment about the pilot, other than the FAA revoked their license.

I can understand the charges that might arise from trespassing on federal land, but the only person who can be held responsible for the carriage of explosives on the aircraft is the pilot!

The pilot is "infamous" and well known in the Los Angeles Basin, and nobody is surprised at his actions. Rumor is, his certificate was revoked.

Yes they do. Especially after the incident with Dorcey Wingo on the set of the Twilight Zone.

I wonder who that might be.... Wasn't he involved in sandblasting some luxury cars with his downwash some years ago? Also some very low level flying in Hollywood springs to mind

Must be slow day in FAAville. Pyro from an aircraft in a staged visual is not uncommon, no risk to the public, risks were mitigated. What's the big deal? Everybody's panties in a knot over "carriage of explosives", hardly the same as fireworks. Not like he's carrying a case of dynamite with the box of caps balanced on top - something I know you utility guys have never done

I think this is a case of the “straw that broke the camels back”. From all the “talk of the town” this person has been riding both sides of the edge of the rules for some time.

As to part two of your question——yes, but there is a right way to do that too…a fully approved dynamite avalanche program…..and yes, had one, most of the time.🤪

And I wuz told the detonators (caps) were to be carried in the pilot's shirt pocket....with a thousand pounds of real explosives piled into every nook and cranny possible.

Wuz I lied to by the Seismic crew and Drillers?

I am beginning to think Malabo and I might have crossed paths back in our early days.

The good old days. Mr Smith and lindstrand in a Robinson firing off a flare, except it was pointed the wrong way, a lot of smoke in the cockpit. Good old boys.
