SS, did you "go away" for a while? I seem to not recall much from you lately.

Any progress on the round-the-world-in-a-gyroplane fiasco from a while back?
A recent visit to one of our local hotels for some pick-ups:

And Bristow were doing some maintenance on one of their S76's, I thought this may be of interest

It was e-mailed to me for inclusion in our collection. I receive quite a few and post the good ones here from time to time. I don't know if the person who sent the picture also took it. If not, and the photographer complained about copyright, I'd remove it.

The 500 blades require an AD to be signed out every 200 Tq Events or 30hrs, the counters make life much easier during a long day's slinging where you may do 200+ Tq events. Ours are on the collective though, a bit easier to reach.

Hi ppruners,
its not a photgraph from a real helicopter, its from a painting.
But my rememberence isnīt quite good, I was busy with getting wings and future planing.
As war as I know this picture was painted by a guy who had an accident, ending up in a wheelchair - but he was a fighter and managed to get airborne again. 1990 he arrived with a totaly black Gazelle at Cudrose around the time I got my wings.
Anybody here, who can confirm the story and has more details?
