G'day USA
Hi Guys,
I'm an Australian low hour CPL(H) and I'm going over to the US for a trip in afew months, I'm keen to look into obtaining a FAA CPL(H) & Instructor rating....
Any advice from guys who have done it or live there now would be appriciated, I've heard that it usually takes an extra 20 - 30 hours to convert the licenses due to IF time, X-country and learning the ropes of congested airspace......
Any schools that are recommended? I've heard HAI and Helistream are a good start?
Thanks for you help

Having worked (flown) with graduates of HAI, I would recommend them highly. I don't know Helistream.
If you can afford it, HAI's CAA course is much more comprehensive, ( read employable in N Sea ) than the simpler FAA.
Alas, Sasless, our training from Uncle Sugar prepared us for Air Mass Weather, Southeast Asia, and little else.
Still. we are functioning. Aren't we?
