You need a pretty big ego to imagine that by trundling down a river at 80 kts you are somehow comparable to a Top Gun pilot

As long as you have recced the route what is the problem ? Life is a risk ! Everytime I go longlining in a 500 I am inside the avoidcurve, if the C20B quit I am right in the cart. Though i suppose I wouldnt get my feet wet !

perhaps, but at least you wouldn't have to rely on HUET training that this guy probably doesn't have, and in a flast flowing river to boot. longlining is definitely higher on the risk scale but at least it is done for a client, for revenue, and the client is generally not on board.
