Rotorcraft down in Cornwall

Radio 2 1500H reporting that a single seat helicopter/gyrocopter has come down on Bodmin Moor, killing the pilot. Thought to have taken off from Bodmin aerodrome.

Tragic.

Another sad day for aviation.
My simpathies to the family and friends of the pilot.

Dare I hazard at a guess that it was an R22.

No, the first post and link clearly says single-seater gyro.

It was definately a Gyro because he flew over my head early this morning enroute to Bodmin from Somerset quite low. I was on a hill near Tiverton about to take photos of low flying aircraft, but for some strange reason i never took my camera out my bag to photograph the gyro coming over.

Sympathies and thoughts to the family and friends.
