Exclamation Christophorus 6 crash in Salzburg

This is just off the hot press. Ambulance helicopter crashes onto a childrens playground next to the hospital in Salzburg. Not a good day to start with these kind of things. Luckily no fatalities.

Very glad no fatalities.

I'll bet the press/media will have a field day (whatever one of those is) with this story. It has all the elements...helicopters...crashes...children...hospitals...

EC 135

Man, it is pure luck that all walked away from this mishap when looking at these pictures of the wreckage.

News story & Pic in German

Translation along the lines (courtesy of google translate)

After first information it is to concern with the cameraman a film and a medium artist, which work for the ORF and international TV stations. The fallen heli coil was for turning work for a car Werbespot on the way.

Treetop touched
As a cause of the misfortune it is assumed that the pilot touched a treetop due to the small flight altitude with the rotor blades. Afterwards the pilot lost control of the helicopter and fell, assumes gendarmes.

Hurt in the hospital

The emergency surgeon helicopter of the OEAMTC - Christophorus 6 - and a helicopter of the ministry of the Interior arrived already briefly after the crash at the misfortune place and flew the hurt ones to the hospital.

Machine started in moon lake

With the misfortune helicopter it concerns a German machine, whose basis was in moon lake. Also the flight was started from there to the turning work.

Might I suggest that this was a camera heli - probably a Squirrel / Ecureil that crashed and the injured crew were taken to hospital in Christoph 6 (an EC 135) ?

Yes looks like this was a case of misinformation.

Good that it was not Christoph 6 self that crashed

Angel

On the same web page there is a reference to a second helicopter crash into the river Donnau or Danube(Blue?)!

Hubschrauber in Donau gestürzt

The Heli appears to be a EC120 green and white.

Unfortunately it is safe to say it was no Squirrel but an EC 135.

It is a picture gallery and contains five photos

Devil

I've now looked at THREE different helicopter crashes in Austria on this thread!
Austria is having a very bad year with helicopters!
Hopefully no fatalities in all cases.

Joining up the dots of the Bablefish translation seems it was a car commercial they were shooting.
Not clear if they were filming at the time of the accident.

Cameraman is seriously injured?

Anyone know if he was hand held or were they using a camera mount?

I think that some of the "news" are totally mixed up. The helicopter that crashed in Salzburg yesterday was "Christophorus 6", an EC-135. (see pics in skadi's post). Two were seriously injured (pilot + patient, a motorcycliste who has been seriously injured in an accident before ), 3 with minor injuries ( doc, 2 paramedics).

All the other accidents stated in in the newspaper article posted by 007helicopter are accidents which took place last year or even earlier.
