Helicopters and Air Mail
One of the greatest joys of flying helicopters in remote areas is the opportunity it provides to meet remarkable people. Whilst engaged in massacres of millions of brain cells by means of excessive consumption of adult malt beverages I encountered a veritable fount of knowledge regarding helicopter aviation and the air mail services of the world.
To say I have learned much from this dear fellow is an understatement. When you work up the courage to mention helicopters and air mail the second time to him, it becomes more interesting with the telling.
I see a great similarity between this history genius and our Nick Lappos.
When you get either of them talking about their favorite topic...their countance changes...eyes glitter....and all you have to do is solemnly nod....mutter a few "Ah, really?" or "who would have guessed?" and lean back and learn from those that know what they speak of.
How many others collect these mail covers, stamps and things that relate to helicopters and air mail services?

with eyes a'glittering
