Post Pre-flight

I wanted to add this to the 'infamous test' but missed it (and do not question Helidrvr's reasons for locking it, neither am I intending to resurrect it).

However, what I wanted to say might have value in other respects and maybe it's worthy
of mention.

I always perform the sort of check that Lu prescribed before any take off. I began doing it in reaction to an accident I read about which invloved someone taking off in a machine that had just been worked on.

Some of the control linkages had been incorrectly refitted and the disc did not respond as it should. A crash was the result.

The real point of this post is that it's a very good idea to check disc tilt against cyclic input with the lever down but RPM at flight level. If the disc tilts in the correct manner, all is well.

Don't get the impression that I don't trust engineers, far from it! I just think that a small risk like this is also a once only deal and I'd rather check.
