Post Work Schedule

I was just wondering what everyones work schedules are.

I know as an instructor in the US I didn't care how many hours I sat in the office but times move on. 15 hours in the office for 3 in the book were considered a good day.

Now the hours of work are considered important and the flight time is just something that gets written down because you have to.

I know that the US tend to work equal time for Police, EMS and offshore but don't mention the word leave until you have a few years of service for the company. But the complaint on just helis is that 12x14 or 14x14 still gives between 168 and 196 working a month.

Myself I'm hiding in the Middle East working 4, 5 or 6 days a week with 42 days paid leave a year. 12 or 14 hour shifts. So I don't count myself as badly off.

Just wondering how good or bad everyone else feels they have it. No money, just how much do you work and what is your rotation or leave???

If you're not a pilot please feel free to tell us all how badly off we are!!!

Thumbs up

7 weeks in Nigeria, 5 weeks leave. On site the main limit is the 100 hours in 28 days, which is regularly reached. daily hours vary up to 8 flying, so number of days per month dictated by the 100 limit. No night except medevac and training (but that may change). The other large twin operator there is the same, but a smaller 206 outfit runs 3 and 4 with the 100 hours done in the 3 weeks.

Wink

About 6 weeks overseas, working 6 or 7 days a week followed by almost 6 weeks off at home, travelling on your own time shaves a few days off the time off.
The monthly hours depend upon the country you are in or the client's restrictions can also dictate. An annual average of 300 to 650 hours seems to be the norm.
I'm happy with my lot in life although more money would always be welcome!
