Question uk police/air ambulance contracts?

What's the situation regarding police/air ambulance work in the UK at the moment? Is anybody looking for pilots? All useful input appreciated.

Cool

It's worth giving McAlpines a call. I believe that they are looking for pilots. Try Jim Laird(Chief Pilot) or Chris Forrest(Ops Manager) on 020 8848 9647.

Mighty Gem,
I'd heard that Juli Mayhew is Ops Manager at McAlpine and she is much prettier than Chris Forrest. I hope you got the number right - do you know the company?

Question

Does anybody have any ideas of current requirements? I have spoken to PAS in the past and they wanted ex-military pilots preferably and about 2500 TT and 500 P1 in twins.

Question

Does anyone have a mailing address for the North Wales Police vacancy. The Flight International jobs website only has 'UK'.

To The Governor: Check the latest Flight Int ads for a typical police/hems pilot spec.

To Out of Balance: this ad also gives an e-mail address to apply for the application form.

Question

I thought Paul Whitely was the Chief pilot at McAlpines?

Wink

Paul Whitfield is Chief (Test) Pilot for McAlpines at Oxford, but at McAlpine Aviation Services Limited, Hayes, it's Jim Laird who is Chief Pilot.

I'm afraid that the hours requirement from PAS is just about the norm for this type of flying. regardless of hours experience, you will need twin time and significant low level time day and night to get any way near to the perf A requirements before training. it's a matter of cost for the training!!!

I've heard that Thomas Coupling knows all there is to know about everything - but particularly in Wales.

Earpiece, you have me at a disadvantage, it appears you know me.I don't know you otherwise I'd understand where you were coming from with that last thread. Seems Im not on your christmas card list either for some particular reason. Care to give it?

Thomas C you were on my CC list so you had better go and check. You didn't send me one if that helps!

Incidentally, did you mean Country rather than County in your bluffmanship?

Stay on is my advice.

Thanks Welsh Dragon. Do you have an email address that I can use? Just a few Q's from a prospective applicant.

Cool

Twin time is not a hard and fast rule. Macs have employed at least one pilot for Police ops who was gazelle only. It was for a "trial", but he has a permanent post.
