Surely some of the vast sums of money that the UK government are spending in Iraq looking for the weapons of mass destruction could be diverted to humanitarian needs in the UK.
It's ironic that foreign aid apparently has higher priorities than those at home.
My family works with a very well known charity and we are very aware that we are helping the less fortunate. However, this air ambulance is a service to the community of rural folk and one has to assume that it forms a vital part of life saving.
I hope fund raising is now underway to get this helicopter back into the service of the community. Why this is not funded from government is not so clear.
