Bond Air Services Rosters

Have heard a rumour recently that BAS are improving their roster system, has anybody got any details?

Thanks

Yes - 4 hour duty day, 10am till 2pm, with a two hour lunch break & luncheon vouchers, 2 on 4 off, company car, pension of 50% final salary, index linked. payable after 1 years service. This is all true, would I lie to you?

The situation is getting worse every day... maybe I should re-think this as a career

Thanks Governormalfunction, I'm glad you feel that way, cos the powers that be are trying to sell the current scheme to you present employers - ha ha

For those that don't know, the current scheme is loosely based on a 4 on - 2 off roster, combined with filling in for leave cover at other bases. This leaves a very tight roster so any sickness or ad hoc contracts have resulted in poor roster stability for all.

The hope is that they can introduce a fixed roster with a regular cycle including some blocks of 4 or 5 days off (a couple of contracts may not be able to be included.) Discussions are still in progress, so nothing firm yet - I would like to think we might have more news in the next few days.

Why do you ask Game, are you looking to jump ship?

Regards

TeeS

Well my spies tell me that the current roster is 4 on 4 off. At some bases every other 4 'on' is a night duty spent mostly at home. Sounds great to me!

Thanks Wiz - I had my English/Welsh head on, my apologies to those north of the border.

A large proportion of the Scottish roster is 4 on/ 4 off, the aim is to improve the stability of that roster as well.

Fixed roster starts in July (for a trial period at least) stability looms!! - and a decent pay rise thrown in, what can I say
