Guys I thought we where trying to keep Geoff,s name off the forum as we have known who it was from day one .

did I miss something but I thought it was prudent not mention names for no other reason than was a tragic incident for which poor geoff got badly hurt and his student got injured

wishing to not dig a hole but I did think this time we would keep the pilots name and students name, nameless for conspicuity as the forum is open to public and PRESS viewing

Good to here geoff and student are on the mend

You chose to withhold the name. That was your choice.

Fatal Accidents
Our policy is to withhold names of people who've lost their lives until their names are formally released into the public domain in order to ensure that their names don't appear here before their families have been informed.

Non-fatal
No policy. Members are free to name or withhold as they think appropriate.

As an Update to geoffs condition i spoke to a C/P in that location today geoff has had a steel plate fitted in his back his student is still walking around very stiff and very sore and looks as though he has been beaten with a big stick for a week. The C/P thinks that Geoff may get back to flying but was not sure.

Took my GFT with Geoff Day in the early ninties. Still remember him having to wind the throttle on a the bottom of the auto because i screwed it up. Now of course you just raise the lever and the magical govenor takes over.

Also did an instructor night add on with him fairly recently.

Bad luck and hope your flying again soon
