Gatwick North to South terminal.
Please could anyone advise me..... the best way to get with my heavy suitcase from Gatwick North terminal where I am landing as a passenger ex TOM 184 November 16th around 08.00am local... to the Avis car rental desk in the South Terminal?
Sorry if it is a stupid question to folks familiar with Gatwick...but I have never arrived at Gatwick as an inbound passenger.

From the BAA webite:
Changing terminals
Connecting to UK, Channel Islands or Ireland flights: Follow Arrivals, collect any baggage and take the free automatic transit train which operates between North and South Terminals. Transit trains depart every six minutes (three minutes at peak times) and the journey takes two minutes.
Connecting to international flights: If your baggage is checked through to your final destination, use the free inter-terminal bus which operates from below the flight connections areas.
