Landings

I have a concern: I wonder how pilots decide which of them will do the landing. I would appreciate an answer.
Thanks
James

Simplest is to take turns but it gets complicated by:

* One of the pilots or the autoland (if fitted) might require a landing to maintain currency

* Company procedures might specify who does a landing given the circumstances: weather, particular airport, type of instrument approach, experience level of the other pilot.

* erm.....one of the pilots becomes ill.

If one of the pilots was ill enough not to perform a landing, would there be an inquiry or would nothing be said at all? - Is this a common occurance as well?
Many Thanks
Dan

i like the idea that pistonprop proposed. would be good fun.

or they could straws?

but my favourite would have to be to see the two airmen playing twister to decide. afterall we all know thats what they do on those tedious long haul trips over the pond only to arrive at the other end and have the plane autoland
