Atlantic route changes?
I am writing regarding this passages on the BBC webite about solar storms we are weathering...
link is here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/3230807.stm
Quote:
Earlier this week, aircraft traversing the north Atlantic were confined to a narrow corridor to minimise radiation exposure
I have spoken to a few pilots who fly this route often and they have never heard of any such change earlier this week........
Anyone know if this statement is true?? Anyone here been following a radiation reducing corridor on the north atlantic???

the corridor they were reffering to was not directly due to the solar activity but it was so that atc would have a better idea where aircraft were if radio contact was lost
no idea if it was used though since i aint a commercial pilot
