Books for PPL / Study time?
Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what books are best for preparing for those PPL exams, including the night rating?
I see Transair pilot shop has a PPL package, is that more than sufficient or are there other books I should get to, e.g the PPL confuser, etc?
Finally how much study have most of you done for your PPL exams, e.g 4hrs a day, more?
Or how much time roughly should I spend studying per day if I devote myself to full time training? I know it depends on the individual but I'm just looking for a guide as to how much study is required for each exam, for most people doing full time training.
Thanks,
Best wishes,
Turbsy

Get yourself the confuser!!! if you can come out on top in the papers in that book, you've pretty much sussed each subject.
Try and tackle your least favourite subjects exam first, usually Law, Met and Tech in that order. I learnt mostly by reading the text books for 40 mins before going to sleep each night, worked for me.
I don't think there's a fixed time u need to spend with your head buried in a book in order to pass an exam. It's all down to the individual concerned.
Best of luck.

Two choices asfar as text books for PPL study go. Trevor Thoms or the AFE PPL series. Some say the AFE one's have a clearer layout than the Thom's. I have gone for the Trevor Thom's and they seem to be clear enough. The PPL Confuser is a MUST HAVE! As someone else said, if you can get on top of all those questions then the exams should be not too much of a chore.
Good luck!
Simon
PS. I have to add that I have NOT completed all exams myself yet so I could be wrong about the confuser being a must have! ;-)
