Lightbulb you'll get rejection letter soon, no worry

They normally send rejection letters within 3 to 4 weeks. That way it looks like they really care. They care so much that you never get a feedback or scores. Save some money and do a course, forget Malgus.

Be very careful about allegations because you will not be protected if you continue to use terminology that can get us into trouble. You have been warned.

give me ONE reason why they should care about you.
they have your money, so???

go find an other sheme, and do the same thing until you learn to keep your money and go fly in a reputable school.

You will find that after looking at past sponsorship schemes, some airlines do make an effort to tell you where you went wrong and how you could possibly improve next year. When BA ran their scheme, they usually offered free BA tickets to those travelling for an interview at LHR etc etc. They don't have to offer a free ticket, they could offer that seat to someone who would pay money - even an ID90!

Yip, sat the test on 23rd November and got the rejection letter on 10th December. Rather gutted i didnt make it to the interview stage as I didnt even get to show them i had a degree in aeronautical engineering (surely im worth even a cursory look). What a mug i feel. Always the ctc scheme to go for but not entirely happy about spending £150 +accommodation +travelling expenses.

if only watchdog was still on tv..

I applied to this scheme in June this year, and attended a selection do dah in June. Although I got through the first stage, I have not heard a dickie bird since, and have no idea when the second stage will be. This is now almost 6 months after the first stage. I have spoken to the chaps at malgus about this and they say that they have not been able to run a second stage selection as there are not enough 'suitable' people applying to hold a second stage selection. In other words, not enough people forking out 147 buff. In other words, they appear to be taking your money at the moment and pretty much everyone at the first stage appears to be failing. If not, then why hasn't there been a stage two in the last 6 months.

I'm not an expert in law, but this doesn't sound a very legitimate venture. I suspect that if I (or anyone) do sit the second stage that no-one will get through and no-one will be sent to jerez. The words 'barge pole', '10ft' and 'would not touch' come to mind.

caveat emperor and all that.

Yawn

Come on guys, this has been done to death here – use the search & you’ll read all about Malgus. From memory, 650:1 are the odds of you getting through. However, they sponsor the course, they don’t offer you a job.

Personally I’m spending my £140 on CTC McAlpine selection; 72 places a year and a jet airline job to go to. That seems both better odds (assuming they have <48,750 applicants/year!) and value to me!

zeroualy,

please, go fly and let serious students type what they have to type.you represent the 1/100000000 student who tell us you have been sponsored by malgus.you do not represent the majority of people loosing their money.

I didnt lose my money in this "sheme", I am a full ATP pilot and my 165 bucks have been invested in hours, and I suggest to everybody to do the same thing. Go in a flight school and fly.
Malgus sheme is a waste of time and money.

and BTW mr Zeroualy, where is you license?. when do you post it on PPrune?, so everybody can see it!

Use terminology that you cannot provide evidence to back uo again and you will be banned!

Cool

FAACFI,

Are we really supposed to believe that u have an ATPL when u can barely type a sensible post that even makes any sense?? Seems unlikely to me.

At the end of the day all of these schemes are a gamble and you are going to have to pay out money to be in with a chance, but at least its a chance. There are so few opportunities out there, you can't knock people for trying. Fair enough, its only going to be a minority who get onto these schemes, but people do. Whether its Easyjet or Malgus, at the end of the day only a handful of people will get a place. But surely anyone with an ounce of common sense knows this at the outset. Nobody forces anyone to pay 150 quid for aptitude tests. Its unfortunate that in this profession the only way to get anywhere is to fork out money, but thats just the way it is. Its not gonna change and if u want to fly then you will try every option available to you.

Don't have a go at zerouali for sticking up for malgus. If you were a regular reader of PPrune, then you would know his history with the scheme. ( Hope its going well in Jerez!)

It all comes down to how badly you want to fly. If u want that that much you will find a way.

It all depends just how badly u want it.

faacfi,

your attitude does suck somewhat.

I was as skeptical as the next man about Malgus when it opened for business. But it is for real and that was soundly proven by the arrival of the two Malgus chaps on course 28 here. I don´t think zeroauli and his collegue could believe their luck but here they are and very much enjoying it too I think

faacfi: believe it or not most of us here don´t have licenses (except the odd PPL here and there) and that is why we are here: to get a fATPL you oaf!

I do not post many threads on here, but I am sorry, I have to post one in regards to this topic.
The attitude you portraid in your post was completely unnecessary! I applied to Malgus when they first started out and was fairly successful in my application (fairly successful being, I got quite far - no more comments available). I have read thread after thread after thread on this topic, a lot of them slating Malgus and kicking them to the ground. I paid the £147 to apply and read this carefully....DO NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT! It was another experience of a selection process for me. It was well spent in my view. I have read every post by Zerouali - I have no idea who he is, nor have I ever met him, but good on him! He was successful! Yes the odds are very slim, but as Airborne16 quotes, "but at least its a chance." Absolutely! It is a chance and if there is a chance I will get a free FATPL at the end of it, then I will take the chance, no matter the cost. When I visited Malgus, they were very formal and very professional and in general a nice bunch of guys. I did not get feedback on why I was unsuccessful and yes that is slightly annoying, but at least I still had that small chance I would get in.

I think, personally, there has been far too many posts on this topic and to be frank people are getting tired of reading them.
Mark3618 was only asking for advice on how the tests went. I'll bet he did not expect an argument like this! Give the guy a break and answer his question.

FAACFI - How can Zerouali show you his FATPL when he has only started his training? Can you explain that please? There are so many degrading and unbelievable comments in your thread. Do you have a problem with Malgus? Did they not offer you coffee or tea when your arrived or something? Or did they beat you to your own idea? Substantiate your comments like has been written at the bottom of your post! Oh and your english is absurd!

To any wannabe's who want constructive advice, I suggest sending an email to one of the more positive users on here, and I am sure they will reply giving constructive and worthy advice, rather than taking the main point of this thread away from the wannabe who made it in the first place.

Many Regards,

Rossco

P.S. To the two guys who were successful - hope your having fun and enlighten us to how you are getting on - in a new thread

sorry guys if i dont write correctly in your shakesbeers language, but at least I try to write your language. I do not ask you to write mine(italian, french, german....).
anyway, what I want say is noone will help you to realize your dreams, only you. and when I see the chance you have to win the malgus lottery, believe me or not. better to keep your money and go fly 1 hour in a c152 than to try this "malgus test" which is for me a total joke, a scam or whatever you want to call that , they take you for a bunch of stupid people, placing your money in a basket then when they have enough money, they try to buy a flight training to one of you.And they worse is some of YOU, pay this guys. Do you know this is illegal.
So, come on guys. find yourself a good job, and start your privat license. (what I did several years ago, when I was learning the shakesbeers language).
