Question Online aptitude tests?

Am I just slipping slowly into insanity, or am I right in suggesting that the RAF introduced some online aptitude tests on their careers website some time ago? I've been searching for ages and I can't find any. (Which I suppose rules me out for Navigator.... oh, and Search & Rescue.... Damn shame! ) Can anybody shed any light?

Hi, I dont think there are any aptitude tests as such on the RAF's website. But if you take a look under the Missions link you'll find a couple of "games" which will simulate MicroPat's, short term memory tests, etc.

Hope this helps

(you'll need Flash)

These aren't aptitudes as such, I personally found them totally useless.

If you're going to Cranwell to sit the aptitudes they are by no means useless!!!! The aptitudes RAF make you sit are very similar to the games on the web. Plus (I know it's sad) I found them interesting, but then again I'm a big kid

I must have got the wrong end of the stick somewhere then. Anyway, thanks for the replies guys (or gals?). I did have a rather more specific reason for asking this question though.

Did anybody see that 'Speed' program featuring Jeremy Clarkson on Sunday? He was demonstrating one of the RAF's aptitude tests for 'multitasking', and although he has good coordination, he couldn't do the test to save his life. I remember doing the same test a few years ago when I sat the aptitudes at Cranwell, only at that time it was at an experimental stage, and the marks didn't count. It was a good job too, because although I passed the rest of the tests, my performance on that particular one seemed absolutely shocking. I passed the BA micropat tests too, and again, I'm sure there was nothing like that involved.

Personally, I find the hardest thing about flying is not any individual aspect of it, but just the general cockpit workload management. That never really occurred to me until I was reminded of those b*stard little coloured diamonds! I'm just curious as to whether this is a personal weakness of mine, or whether everybody else has similar experiences.

Cool

I believe the test shown on SPEED was called The Clan. Yes, I hated that one too! Although it wasn't the diamonds that did it for me it was 7 x 13, whilst killing diamonds, whilst memorising half the alphabet!! Somehow I managed to pass them all though!

I found the games on the RAF web page useful, but I guess it's just down to personal preference.
