Mine has just changed to skyborne too (I applied with them instead of letting BA choose). Hoping this is good news!

Mine has changed to Jerez! Wow. I'd gone through all the stages of grief as well!

I'm not holding out a tonne of hope yet - but my word.

Yeah I selected CityFlyer, just couldn't remember seeing base preferences. I only flew into LCY once from BHD and loved the approach! Was amazing 🤩

I bet the view from the flight deck will be even better - not that you'll be looking at the scenery but still....

Fingers crossed having the flight school assigned is good news - doesn't make sense to change if we're being rejected.
Yes, I re-read the email last night and they said we'd hear by the middle of next week (this week now of course) so yes, we could get an email later today

Yep, I do feel a lot of relief! Hopefully you're correct.

Does anybody know whether the Jerez in person assessment would warrant a trip to Spain?

Mine has chaged to Jerez now, if im honest i was kind of hoping for Skybourne as the ground school being in the UK would be a bonus with a family. Do you think it would be frowned upon if I e mailed asking to be considered for Skyborne? I would obviously happily take Jerez if it was a no but didn't want it to be seen that I was being awkward

All in-person assessments are at BA's Waterside

I'd leave it until you got the congrats email - then at the assessment centre, have a chat with a member of the BA staff (I'm sure there will be someone there) to see what the art of the possible is

On a personal basis, I haven't looked into the Jerez locations for any of the programme, but on a personal note, and in principle at the moment, I'd consider a swap (assuming we both got through of course) - let's keep in touch

Yes, I did wonder if it would be a bit presumptuous of me to e mail now. My understanding (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) is that the whole 18 months is based in Jerez whereas it is only the 27 weeks in Florida and the rest in Gloucester. I guess there are pros and cons for both with time difference, distance back to the UK etc.

Happy to keep in touch and see where we are at come the next stage of the assessment. Good luck!

Benefits

Does anyone know if the BA employment commences after the training? My thoughts are for the 18 moths training would we be technically classed as unemployed and therefore able to claim benefits?

Hi All-

With all the status' changing now I'm thinking we really cannot read into this as any sort of indicator. For context my status changed for FTE Jerez last week.

I think we will genuinely just have to wait and see- they are probably assigning flight school to support with application processing/tracking. What do you guys think? Doesnt look like theres anyone remaining whose status has not changed?

Very best of luck to everyone, and sincerely hoping that it does mean positive news all round!

Oh really, I assume there must be some benefits available to claim as a student?

That's the bit I don't know re the full duration in Jerez - you're right re the Skyborne - UK, Florida then back to UK - But I'd be happy to spend the whole period away from the Mrs! I'm sure there's a few who know and will let us know

Yup - I'll ping you a direct message so we don't have to search too hard and with a bit of luck, and a lot of hard work....

Hi All,

I have been an avid reader of this forum so far during my journey with the BA Speedbird Application and enjoy reading all of the responses on this forum.

Just a quick question, Where abouts on the Application website does it say your assigned flight school?
