Is it honestly worth busting your butt studying, living like a monk for 6 months, cutting yourself off from the world and getting good results in the JAA ATPL exams when the whole industry seems to be about having zillions of hours and friends in high places??
At my college many a decent prospective pilot falls by the wayside because of the exams more than any other reason. But they can't progress any more without getting passes in all papers. I mean, WHAT?!

Yeah but does anyone give a toss what you scored, or how many attempts it takes etc. if its experience that gets you the job at the end of the day?
There's this myth going round that BA cold called one of my colleagues as they got good results, first time passes etc. Can it possibly be true??

They do tend to ask how many attempts it took during the interview, but the pass mark seems unimportant.
They also don't seem too bothered about whether you completed on time, or not - provided it was within a realistic time scale.
<slim20 - shouldn't your handler be lagergut60!... how is Coventry these days?>
