You don't actually share the classes with the intergrated. Although some of them will sit in if they have failed a subject.
The modular instructors only do modular when your there and in some ways modular have an advantage because they only get one instructor per subject so you get continuity. And they are pretty good as well. Steve Chesher manages somehow to make even the dryest subjects bareable.
And if you do P of F and the instructor asks about ground effect, say its due to the cushion of air under the aircraft. Sit back and watch the show, its great![Smilie](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Have to agree with Jock. OATS modular groundschool is well worth the extra cash you fork out for their manuals, plus the amount of feedback they have from the exams is excellent. Instructors are good, with the likes of Messers Chesher and Milne in particular making some of the more turgid subjects both interesting and, more importantly, passable.
Admin occasionally lets the place down, though think that's a reflection of the sheer numbers of people taking courses there.
Also wouldn't say I found the place cold or unwelcoming as a modular student. Met some top people on my groundschool courses there and made some good mates along the way, both on the tech and nav fortnights. The full-timers are generally quite young, highly focused and tend to (naturally) stick with their own class mates. Couldn't say I found them anything other than courteous though.
In terms of the manuals etc, think both OATS and PPSC have recognised there's a bunch of people out there who are unhappy with the material they've already got from other training providers. It's my understanding of the rules, however, that you still have to undertake an approved groundschool course, with all the study hours logged. Don't think you can just buy the books, then turn up at Gatwick or Oxford for the exams..

So gents, what should I do now? I was going to convert my other ATPL's to the JAA standards at the 4 place. Full time, four months, and all the exams passed....so they said for about 3,000 quid
(or is it quids??!!)!
Now that I hear these comments, I do not think they are that hot? What is the best place to do the conversion courses full time, and at what cost?
And I don't need to do the multi crew thing or flight test (I have an 1179 already)
regards every one

It's not about the notes.
Its feeding you the right information to pass.
And from sitting in Gatwick waiting for the next exam there is one thing which everyone wants.
You might have guessed it's the feeback from OAT. Its up to 850 questions in principles of flight alone. And when i sat the techs i had seen nearly 2/3rds of the questions before except the M&B exam. Where we had the real advantage because we knew the definition of useful load and traffic load.
