I've been told that obtaining books/guides on "GMAT" are very helpful for aptitude tests, particularly the dreaded BA verbal reasoning. However, I've been looking around for such books, and although I can find examples of "Critical Reasoning", I can't find any that have the "Inference" questions in them (ie... reading a passage and infering whether statements are True, False, Cant Tell etc...). I don't suppose anyone has a name for a book containing such examples !?!?

I can highly recommend 'The Dummies Guide to the GMAT'.... It is one of a series of 'Dummies' books, available from Amazon or from most good bookshops...
Great book, not just for GMAT, but also for a general brush up on mathematics, alegbra and geometry.. Verbal reasoning is good as well...

The best one is GMAT CAT. It has the kind of tests that BA do in it (Verbal reasoning included) as it's aimed at passing Graduate computer apptitude tests. It has a CD with practise tests on it and lots of useful tips and revision guides.
Well worth the money as its useful for many job apptitude tests. If you want the ISBN let me know and I will post it here.

i could definately do with that GMAT thing. But dont know were to get it and how much does it cost ?
I've already got the Ken Thomas Harry Tolley book on 'how to pass verbal reasoning tests'
its ok but the BA stuff is limited.
Any shops that sell it or is it better to get it online ?

Yup I've managed to get my hands on both the Tolley books - verbal and numerical.
I could recommend them as a starting point - particularly the maths one - but once you've worked through the examples a few times it's of limited use. The verbal reasoning again is a good grounding but is not really specific enough.
The examples on www.shldirect.com are fairly good as they are the very same ones BA use. So get the swing of things on the site and you should be OK....
